In the Swine Project, members gain firsthand experience raising and managing market hogs for exhibition and sale. From selecting quality animals to learning proper feeding, health care, and grooming techniques, members develop practical livestock skills and a strong work ethic. A key focus is on daily handling and training to prepare members and pigs for the show ring, along with understanding weight gain, muscle development, and quality. This project challenges members to set goals, stay consistent, and take pride in producing a healthy, high-quality animal. (Ages 9-19)
